New to Boulder Events

Boulder has always gotten a lot of buzz about being a great, healthy place to live. As the birthplace of TechStars, StartupWeekend, the Unreasonable Institute, Boulder Design Works’ Designer Founder Accelerator, and a host of brilliant companies, we’ve gotten a widespread reputation as a thriving, collaborative startup community. As a result, lots of startup-friendly folks have either made the jump to live here or are seriously considering it. (Fun fact: we’re even paying to fly 25 people in for the event!)

With the New to Boulder track, we want to provide the thinking-about-moving-here folks an easy, accelerated path to making an informed decision. For those who already made the jump (Hello!), we want to do what we can to welcome them and to help them get ramped up quickly.

One of the ways we’re doing all this is by letting the town itself do some of the heavy lifting: things like the Walking Tour of Boulder on Thursday and the Cruiser Bike Ride (along with bike rides, hikes, and other outside activities from other tracks) on Monday night do a great job of letting Boulder sell itself.

Another great way to accomplish our mission with the New to Boulder track is by giving folks an opportunity to make connections with others in their same boat. Sign up for the New to Boulder Dinner on Monday night to get matched up with other new-to-Boulder folks for dinner – on us.

We continue the theme of fostering connections between those new to Boulder at the I Moved to Boulder and… event on Tuesday from 2-3. This is event is designed to give an opportunity for those who are brand new to town to get some solid tips, tricks, hacks, and advice from people who made the jump to Boulder a bit before you. Come with questions!

If you’re intrigued with the idea of working for a startup, definitely consider attending the Getting a Job at a Startup event on Tuesday from 3-5. There will be folks speaking on where to find out who’s hiring, people with deep experience hiring for startups in town, representatives from startups who have gone through huge growth, and some folks who have recently managed to land a solid startup gig.

For those of you who need a final dose of Boulder awesomeness, the Walking Tour of Boulder on Thursday is TripAdvisor’s highest-rated Boulder activity. Period. This fun and informative walking tour explores the convergence of characteristics that make Boulder a truly special place. This event will definitely sell out.

Welcome to Boulder!
